You noticed the last two Herbal Branches I offered bonus gifts for ordering the Herbal Medicine Making Kit.
THIS TIME…I have the best offer of all. Simply order the Herbal Medicine Making Kit by Sunday night at midnight (Dec. 11) and I will send you The Herbal Cultivation Guide for free!*
HOWEVER… the first 3 will also get The Vitamin and Mineral Chart (my favorite herbal chart!).*
AND the first 3 people who order the Kit WITH the 2 required books will get The Herbal Cultivation Guide AND Shanleya’s Quest, which is an awesome children’s (of all ages) book that teaches botany in an exciting way. (This is a $25 value (book and chart) for free!!!)*
*For orders shipped to U.S. only
You can use the kit to make herbal salves for your OWN holiday gifts, and it of course makes just about the best herbal gift there is.
How do you claim your gifts?
Simple. After you place your order, email me and let me know you heard about this offer from Herbal Branch 17. You're all set.

Now, on to our recipe….
Holiday Herbal Hot Apple Cider
What I love about this cider recipe is that it is not too sweet, and it is nourishing for the nervous and your immune systems.
This recipe makes a gallon for your holiday party.
First, make a quart jar of oatstraw infusion. Those who have done the Roots and Branches course will know how to do this. If you don’t, then click here and scroll down a little for instructions on how to make oatstraw infusion. There is also information on the virtues of oatstraw.
Remember, you will get the most of out the Herbal Branch newsletters if you use them as a continuation to the Roots and Branches course.
Next, pour 3 quarts of organic apple juice into a pot. You know, the cloudy kind that comes in the big glass jugs. The good stuff, not the over processed, clear, alar laden generic apple juice. But, if you like that type of juice, I suppose it will work. :)
Then, Add your finished oatstraw infusion.
Also add the following…
• 4 cinnamon sticks (helpful for the immune system)
• 2 tsp. of cloves (digestive aid)
• ¼ tsp. of ground ginger (helpful for the immune system)
• 8 slices of astragalus root. (Astragalus is very nourishing for your immune system!)
Bring it to a boil, then simmer for 20 minutes.
Ladle the cider into your favorite mug, put in a stick of cinnamon, find a cozy spot in your house and enjoy!
You can strain it, and keep it in the fridge until it’s all gone.
Of course, feel free to play around with the amounts, ingredients, etc…
Tying this all back into the “LearningHerbs” philosophy, this is yet another wonderful herbal experience to bring herbs into your life. You have not only nourished your body and soul, you have also come closer to understanding the herbs you are using.
I would like to take this time to THANK YOU ALL for supporting LeaningHerbs.com. It was last January 1 that we launched our web site and began selling the Herbal Medicine Making Kit.
In 2005, we have distributed 300 kits and have added 1,300 people on this newsletter list, which far exceeded any expectations.
Thank you so much for committing yourself to natural health and learning about the gifts of the plants.
Our family wishes you a Happy and Healthy 2006!
