 Home remedy for wart removalby Kimberly Gallagher
I remember going to the doctor as a child to have a wart burned off of my knee. Well, the wart is gone, but I still have a scar where it was removed. Now, I realize there was no need for this measure to be taken. I have dealt with three warts at home on my own since then using my home remedy for wart removal (two of my own and one large one on my son's knee). What I've found is that a simple chickweed (Stellaria media) poultice applied several times a day is a great home remedy for warts. The warts will shrink very quickly until they disappear completely. Simply chew up (or mash up in a mortar and pestle with a small amount of water) a small amount of chickweed and place it directly on the wart. Cover the poultices with a bandaid and leave it on for several hours. Repeat this process 3 or 4 times a day until the wart disappears.
Simply open the stem with your fingernail and rub the milky white sap onto the wart. Repeat this process several times a day until the wart disappears. You may find it amazing that these two common weeds can provide such a simple home remedy for wart removal, but in my experience I have found it to be true. It is so satisfying to watch a wart shrink and disappear, and it is such a tangible example of the healing power of plants.
