Kimberly and I are home school parents, and are always looking for a good home school resource.

The Herbal Medicine Making kit is a hands-on experience. It even includes a home study course, so it really is an ideal home school resource.

The one thing I had reservations about was the fact that the tincture requires a small bit of vodka. The thing is, alcohol really does work best in extracting chemical constituents from the herbs.

In administering tinctures to kids, the amount is so small that it is not at all harmful. If you feel otherwise, the kit talks about ways to get rid of the alcohol.

If alcohol is an issue, you can use glycerin, which is available through Mountain Rose Herbs.
