Shatavari is a member of the asparagus family. It is a native plant throughout Sri Lanka, Nepal, India, and the Himalayas. Shatavari root is commonly used as an adaptogen and a tonic for women’s health across the reproductive years. It has a long and rich history of use in Ayurveda, a practice and system of medicine originating from India over 5,000 years ago. Shatavari is known as a rasayana herb, or a restorative tonic. Ayurvedic practitioners have referred to shatavari as the “Queen of Herbs”. Shatavari is a safe and nourishing herb with many benefits.
